From Crisis Response to Community Impact

MARCH 2020
Born from Compassion
Are you wondering how a global crisis can spark lasting community change? Britannia Youth Organisation was founded during one of the most challenging periods in recent history. As the COVID-19 pandemic swept across the nation and the first lockdown began, our founder Hassan saw an urgent need.
What started as a simple desire to help young families with their shopping during lockdown quickly evolved. Working within social distancing restrictions, young people came together to make a difference, distributing emergency food packages.
The name "Youth Organisation" reflected this founding principle – young people actively making a positive difference.
WHERE WE ARE TODAY
Our Core Offerings
Building on our history of crisis response, we now provide six pillars of support that build skills, confidence, and community for young people aged 0-25.
From emergency relief to structured development, our path has been defined by adapting to the true needs of our youth.
Post-Lockdown Expansion
As restrictions began to lift, BYO expanded its mission. Sports programmes were added, providing young people with opportunities for physical activity, teamwork, and personal development.
Finding Our Focus
After exploring various community support initiatives, BYO found its true calling. We honed in on the youth element, recognising the profound impact structured programming could have.
Sustainable Impact
This wasn't an abandonment of our founding values – it was an evolution. We moved from temporary crisis response to creating sustainable, transformative, and lasting impact for generations to come.
Our Story Continues
"Together, we're building something that will serve our community for generations to come."
