Xenara
A community food initiative by Britannia Youth Organisation dedicated to sharing meals with kindness, dignity, and hospitality.

Rooted in Ancient Tradition
The name Xenara is inspired by the ancient Greek concept of Xenia, a tradition centred on welcoming and caring for strangers.
In ancient Greek culture, hospitality was seen as a moral responsibility. Hosts were expected to offer food, drink, and kindness to guests and travellers, often before asking who they were or where they came from.
"This tradition reflected the belief that communities grow stronger when people look after one another."
What is Xenara?
Inspired by the spirit of Xenia, Xenara brings people together through the simple act of sharing food.
Free Meal Packages
During Xenara events, we distribute free meal packages to members of the community, offering a warm meal and a welcoming environment for anyone who wishes to attend.
Throughout the Year
Xenara takes place at different times throughout the year whenever the opportunity arises to prepare and share meals with the community.
Community Partners
With the support of volunteers and community partners, the initiative aims to organise these food distributions as regularly as possible.
More Than Food Distribution
Xenara represents hospitality, service, and community. It reflects the belief that small acts of generosity can make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
