BYO Passport Launch Day: Our Changemakers Get Their Passports
On Sunday 1 November, Christ Church on Burney Lane was buzzing as BYO officially launched the BYO Passport, our new online portal for every BYO Changemaker. We were delighted that the Governor joined us in person to hand out logins and help everyone get started.
The BYO Passport is the result of two years of listening. Over that time we have gathered feedback from young people, parents and carers, and our partners, and one message kept coming back: young people grow so much at BYO, but sometimes it's difficult to see that progress. We've worked on a solution that makes it visible, real and easily accessible.
On the day, young people sat down with the BYO team to collect their login details, log in for the first time and explore their Passport. They looked at their attendance, their Stamps and their five key skills: Communication, Teamwork, Confidence, Resilience and Problem Solving. Everyone who came earned +5 Stamps just for being part of the launch. We also talked about staying safe online and keeping passwords private.
As always, we asked our young people to tell us how it went on a short feedback sheet. Each figure below is a share of the young people who answered that question.
94% said they now know how to log in to their BYO Passport.
100% said they know how to book an event through it.
93% said they know to keep their password safe.
83% said they feel proud to be a BYO Changemaker.
50% felt very confident about staying safe online before the session. Afterwards, 90% did.
93% said they would like to come to another BYO activity.

Some young people asked for a physical version and more information, and we'll take that on board.
