Amy Heppingstall on Scams, Credit Cards, and Managing Money Online

Amy Heppingstall from Mental Health UK was back with us this week to run their Navigating Digital Finances workshop for our young people, following her previous visit to BYO.

The session focused on money in a digital context: how to stay safe from scams, how to use credit cards responsibly, and how to manage money online with confidence.

The subject matters more than it used to. Research from the UK Safer Internet Centre found that 46 per cent of 8 to 17 year olds have been scammed online, and that 79 per cent come across scams at least once a month. Sessions like this give our young people the tools to recognise the warning signs and act on them.

Thank you to Amy and Mental Health UK for sharing their time and expertise with us again.
