Pathways to Progress

The Magic of Probability with Aman Mehdi

The topic was probability. The approach was anything but conventional. Aman arrived with props, activities, and a teaching style that stripped away the classroom formality and replaced it with something closer to discovery. Children's faces lit up as the logic of chance and numbers became tangible in front of them – not abstract, not intimidating, but fascinating.

What made this session particularly impressive was the range it had to cover. The youngest participants and the older attendees were both engaged throughout – asking questions, working through problems, genuinely curious about where the next idea was going. Pitching a subject across that kind of spread without losing anyone at either end requires real skill. Aman made it look straightforward.

There's a moment in sessions like this one where you can see the shift happen – where a young person goes from tolerating a subject to being interested in it. That shift, repeated enough times, changes trajectories. It's why Pathways to Progress exists, and it's what Aman delivered on an ordinary Sunday afternoon in Birmingham.

Thank you to Aman for an unforgettable session and for proving, once again, that with the right person in the room, even the most challenging subjects become adventures.
